
Valerie Rucker
PT, DPT, NCS.
Valerie earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2018. She has experience in hospital-based outpatient and skilled nursing facility settings post-professionally. She became a Board Certified Neurologic Specialist in 2020, and skillfully treats many conditions such as vestibular disorders, post stroke, brain injury, multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, neuropathies, and more. She is LSVT BIG certified for the specific treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and has experience and training in treating chronic pain as a part of a team of physicians, psychologists, and therapists.
Valerie has taken continuing education courses specifically targeted at Women’s Health She treats pelvic floor dysfunction, postpartum concerns such as diastasis recti, urinary incontinence to name a few.
Professionally, she involves herself in the local DC Chapter of the APTA as the co-chair of the Health Equity and Anti-Racism Team (HEART) and serves on a few workgroups which advocate for population health and health equity.
Valerie is also a certified yoga instructor, Reiki practitioner, and dancer. She believes in the power of healing touch and enjoys helping people find their joy and freedom in movement. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching yoga classes, devouring Southern and international cuisine, and spending quality time with loved ones.
